Structural Timber
Machine-graded pine MGP, MGP10 to MGP15: E.g. MGP10 indicates a minimum threshold for stiffness properties of 10,000 MPa. Most exotic plantation softwoods (Pinus species) are graded using this system. Suitable to judge the strength of joists and bearers, MGP assesses compressive and structural strength of the pine timber, as well as the stiffness. The more stress the pine timber can withstand, the more MGP it’ll have. Pine framing has been used by Australian builders for decades, and is preferred over other structural materials due to its great strength, cost-effectiveness, ease of use anH3 treated pine is a timber which has been impregnated with a chemical solution containing two key components – fungicide and insecticide – providing protection against borers, termite attack and moderate fungal decay throughout Australia.d flexibility. Machine Graded pine is available as treated as well.
Mgp10 is extensively used in framing of houses , commercial buildings, construction of decks, pergolas, verandas, carports and the likes, structural treated pine simultaneously delivers strength and appearance.
